Free Bibles by post (UK)

A lack of funds should not stop you accessing God’s word in the holy scriptures

We can post free Bibles to any UK address. Simply send an email to purereligion@proton.me stating your reason for wanting a Bible, which version you would prefer (ESV or NKJV), and include your UK postal address on the email. People who can request Bibles include: individuals, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, prisons, etc.

What then is my reward? That in my preaching I may present the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel – 1 Corinthians 9:18 ESV (bold emphasis added)

The Bible Versions we post out free to UK addresses:

New King James Version (NKJV)

  • The NKJV is an updated version of the famous and highly regarded King James Version.
  • Archaic words used in the KJV such as Anon, Trow, Wotteth, and Forsooth are replaced in the NKJV with more widely understood words such as Quickly, Think, Know, and Indeed.
  • The KJV is renounced for its rich and poetic use of the English language – the NKJV strives to maintain this.
  • The KJV was widely regarded in its time as the most accurate and well researched version of its day. The NKJV seeks to build on this foundation with 130 scholars involved in its production.
  • These scholars used recent research in archaeology, linguistics, and textual studies to further improve an already great translation; while remaining faithful to the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic texts, according to Bible Gateway.

English Standard Version (ESV)

  • English Standard Version (ESV) – this is a modern yet literal version created by a team of over 100 scholars.
  • According to the Crossway team involved in the translation of this Bible:
    • The ESV is an ‘essentially literal’ translation that seeks, as far as possible, to reproduce the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer.
    • The translation was motivated by a belief that Scripture is sacred and that the words of the Bible are the very words of God.
    • It is based on well-attested Hebrew and Greek manuscripts.

Don’t let that discourage you making a request – all reasonable requests will be considered.
